America is going to learn in the coming months and years that it isn't as indispensable as it likes to think it is. True it's a power to be reckoned with. But this isn't the 1950s anymore, there are many other legitimate players on the field now. Other countries are going to start to close ranks against the US. It may be painful at first but there are other trading partners, other markets, other opportunities. It's a big world with a lot of people in it. Not everything revolves around the US anymore. Trump is being a petulant child and crying, "I'm taking my ball and going home". Be careful, other countries don't have to suck America's dick as much as they used to. Eventually they are going to just say, fine take your ball, we'll use ours and play without you.

(6,154 posts)The US tends to only care a lot about human rights violations when their own interest is not at stake. That being said that's no different than most countries around the world. And I'm not saying that the end result will necessarily be better. What I mean is that if pushed far enough other countries will find ways of cutting the US out, it's much more possible in this day and age than it was decades ago.
