We need to start working on 2018 RIGHT NOW..

We have to mobilize enough people to overcome gerrymandering and massive voter suppression. NOTHING will get better until we get control of at least one legislative body.

I am starting to ask everyone I come in contact with "Are you registered".. "Let me help you GET registered" and tell them

"In 2018, vote like your life depends on it"

I am hoping that we aren't too far into the inevitable conflagration to be able to salvage some vestige of what we think of as America.

fund raising and other good stuff happening locally around here.

It's a lot more than marches and pussy hats, although those get the spirits up, and your local Dem headquarters should be a center of activity. If it isn't, there's probably another one not too far away.

Lose hope and you lose everything-- Trump is merely one small moment in history.

"2018, vote like your life depends on it"

Know anyone who makes them? Or could make up a batch for me?

I've gotten magnetic car signs from them, and everyone I know who's used them is happy. Bumper stickers start at 4 bucks each.

If you have a local print shop, give them a shot and you might get a better deal on medium quantities. Staples might make them, too.

You can get bumper sticker blanks from Staples or Office Max and print your own, but that can be tricky. Besides, inkjet ink might run in the rain. I tried it and gave up.

Now that I think of it, I just picked up a bumper sticker from a local environmental org. I would ask them where they got theirs. Large organizations buy by the thousands, but local guys maybe just buy a few hundred.

And, of course, you'll be selling the bumper stickers for fundraising, right?

And, thinking about it a bit more... I'll probably be in the market for some, too.

They need to target folks for primary challenges, ID spots across the Red States where we can run great challengers, ID places where merely changing party affiliation and running as GOP can snag voters who only vote GOP (GOP does this a lot and we don't even recognize this until it's too late.) We need to identify the State and local elections that are extra important to GOTV, especially where governorships are at stake.

Maryland is pretty safe for Democrats. We are trying to reach out to voters in VA, PA, NC. When the weather gets better auto caravans will be taking off to small communities in DE, PA, MD-Eastern Shore, NC.

In close contact to some small groups in Mid-West and N.E.

and lazy. If you've got the energy, think about a Democratic Club, as an adjunct to the party. Get registration rolls from the committee and get the word out. Hold monthly breakfast or dinner meetings with a speaker...

And, we have two amazing women who started a movement to get rid of our Republican congresscritter. Over 800 members on the facebook page and 50-100 people showing up at rallies and meetings. And that's just in a couple of months. (Lotta pussy hats showing up at the meetings-- don't let that marching go to waste)

It can be done, but it's a lot of work. (And some money, too.)

I think it's doable, gerrymandering not withstanding. Trump is already so toxic that no one wants him to visit. He will not be campaigning for anyone. But Democrats still have to be tough in opposition; they cannot be more worried about their jobs than about doing the right thing.

Turnout is key, absolutely, but I think Democrats will be energized and Republicans will be demoralized.
