(34,648 posts)Just so much. I want to stop hating, but Obama doesnt work there any more, and that guy is there, and now winter will go on for at least four years.
I am just like... Well, I guess they were right when they said the whitelash was going to be fucked up. I'm still mad that the GE was so stupid that emails were worse than 'forceable rape'.

(11,787 posts)It's time for us to get down and do the work. This dude did all he could and when did we finally rise up? When he was gone. I feel what you're saying, I really do. But we, as a country let him down. He doesn't owe us anything.

(83,654 posts)Yup. I wept after Obama was elected 2008...wept for his sweet win then wept when everyone left him in droves. They said hell yeah! We got ya here now do it. Then they proceeded to attack him.
He said We. He said WE. He never said I am the one you are waiting for,
"We are the ones we've been waiting for" YES WE CAN!!

We got work to do now and have to plan things together. Marches? Yes. Contacting our critters? Yes. Lucky me mine are all strong Dems.
Clinton and Kaine told us we are Stronger Together and we are.
bucolic_frolic
(43,058 posts)losing the election the way we did and the things they are doing will
shed many of us of any baggage, sloth, or extravagance. All will now
fight harder and focus on what is bedrock important to them. Maybe we
have been too diverse to be cohesive, or too relaxed to work hard. Now
there is no room for error. I love HRC but she just didn't motivate us, en
masse, she was not a sufficient agent of change. She disapproved, she
cajoled, she was classy, but Obama and Biden were our only attack dogs.
We had no home run swing, we tried finesse and it had no upside.
Cheers

(22,976 posts)Of course, we had Obama for the full eight years and he's still very much alive and, I hope an ever-present force for good.
But like the aftermath of JFK's horrible murder, that which is good seems to take leave, and crooks, warmongers and emotionally damaged chief executives show up to plunge the country into turmoil.

(22,011 posts)Almost make me cry now. I always felt like he had my back. I felt safe. Now, its like a nightmare I can't wake up from, a knot in the pit of my stomach. I think our country will never be the same because of Trump and his minions, and many people--around the world and in this country--are going to be killed.

(74 posts)If the republican chickenshits hadn't made it against the law for a president to run for reelection more than once. This was because we had a Democrat (FDRoosevelt) who was so popular he actually got elected President four times. Since there's no way that would work for a Republican, they had to put a stop to that by changing the law, as is their wont. The reason he was so popular with the voters is he actually caused things to get done that benefitted the majority, rather than the top 1%, and that makes Republicans look bad, so they hated him, and made up hateful names for him, and actually, there was a "cocktail putsch" dreamed up by some industrialists, to take over the government, but it went nowhere, unlike the present one. BTW, the things FDR got done are what the GOP is bragging about their plan to eliminate. Too bad for the 99%!

(23,065 posts)Every day Drumpf is at the WH makes me a little sicker and cringe a little bit more in embarrassment at what has been done to this country, all the damage we are taking on hour by hour while this maniac enriches himself at the expense of the world and indulges his hatefulness at the expense of the country's reputation.

(10,893 posts)having a president who knows what he's doing, who isn't an international embarrassment, and who I could actually trust to keep me safe. Everyday, I have to hear about yet another dumb thing that Trump says or does to enrage our allies and/or bring us closer to war with someone.
Shame on the GOP for doing nothing to make him cut that out.
