CYPRESS, Texas - Several controversial photos of students from Cypress Ranch High School are circulating on social media.

The pictures show a group of students, some with their hands in the air making what appears to be a Nazi salute.

In an email to KPRC Channel 2, a student who witnessed the incident but asked to remain anonymous said students were shouting "Heil Hitler" and "Heil Trump. The student also said it was at least 70 or so people and, "It was pretty terrifying."

The photos were taken on Tuesday, picture day for the senior class. One photo was supposed to be serious, the second was supposed to be funny.

The email from the Cypress Ranch student went on to say, “Most people may think it was just kids just joking around but in the current political climate and the fact these kids are seniors in high school, it's beyond unacceptable.”

I love how they describe this: "Controversial photos." That's not controversial. There's Squinch Feb 2017 #1

It sounds like a real learning situation there, from the kids who were involved to the scared ones uppityperson Feb 2017 #2
That behavior is never funny nor is it ever to be excused because it is kids. Solly Mack Feb 2017 #3

no controversy. There aren't two sides to this. It's disgusting. The end. There is no other interpretation or position that can be taken about it by decent people.

All the way around, a good learning situation. It is frightening. Educate those kids as to why.

Teens who find that behavior amusing or just a joke are teens who bear watching.

Mocking genocide and mass murder is not funny.

And yes, that's exactly what they did with their actions.

And, no. I have absolutely no tolerance for what they did or anyone who excuses their behavior.

I do not believe they were ignorant of the meaning of their actions.

I do not believe that enough time will ever go by for that kind of display to be acceptable.

If you can laughingly "Heil Hitler" then you don't get to tell me how you don't mean anything bad by it.

If you're that cavalier about genocide and mass murder, then there is something seriously wrong with you.
