Met by the wisdom of someone from yonder generation.

The other day, I was passing by the lunchroom TV in my workplace. It was showing coverage of the protests going on at that university, I forget the name. Wherever that Breitbart guy was supposed to speak?

And suddenly the head of HR appears beside me. They said, "What a bunch of babies."

Oh crap. A political conversation was just initiated at my job by HR. What a position to be in. But I treaded lightly, were they talking about the protestors being babies?

I inquired, "What do you mean?" Coming off as neutral as possible.

They replied, "They don't realize that this nation was built because of complainers and protestors. We made it this far today BECAUSE people didn't accept this kind of nonsense."

They paused, I relaxed. They were talking about the pundits who were criticizing the protestors, not the protestors themselves. They continued.

"I came from Kent State. You know about that?"

I did. I knew plenty even for my young age.

It appeared to me we have allies all around us. I asked them, "You've been through more than me, clearly. What do you think can be done?"

They just said, "People need to keep protesting. And something will happen soon. It can't work this way for long."
