Another key to happiness, His Holiness suggests, is to "try to be of some service to others." If you can help others, then "no matter what (the) surrounding situation, you can keep (up your) self-confidence and happiness."

Service can come in the form of volunteering, like at a soup kitchen, or on a candidate's campaign, but it can also be simpler, like being a good listener when people are upset.

Volunteers feel more socially connected, they're less lonely, and suffer from depression less, studies show. Volunteering creates physical benefits too: Regular volunteers are less likely to develop high blood pressure and live longer, some studies show.

Simple acts like being a good listener can also reduce your own feelings of stress and improve your feelings of well-being, other studies show.

My advice: Your local food bank needs your help. Forget about Trumpy and company and go help out.

We survived Reagan and W, we'll survive Trump and Bannon.

You can make a big difference.

We Buddhists have a saying that if you can change a bad situation, worry won't help or make it better. And if you can't change a bad situation, worry won't help either. So don't worry. The important point is that each of us must do what we can, take action, use whatever skillful means we have to be kind and help one another to get through this.

I would love to see HH meet with Traitor Trump. HH has an amazing way to speak clearly about compassion.

Some moments i feel grounded, calm and happy. Some times I forget to breathe! and get caught up in frustration and anger at the situation. It's hard to remember sometimes that the peace on earth will come from inside each of us.
