Obama Admin: Trump Lying About Raid that Killed Navy Seal

http://news.groopspeak.com/obama-admin-trump-lying-about-raid-that-killed-navy-seal/

"The Former Deputy Assistant to President Obama has just come out against the Trump administration’s recent claims on Yemen, saying that President Obama was never briefed on “this particular raid.” Trump alone was responsible for it.

President Trump’s first military operation as commander in chief has left about 30 people dead, including at least 15 women and children. At least one of the dead was an 8-year-old girl."

THIS...as Joe would say, "Is a BIG fucking deal."

Obama is calling trump a LIAR.

"While unnecessary civilian deaths aren't unheard of in U.S. military operations, officials told Reuters that Trump approved the covert counterterrorism operation without sufficient background intelligence. When the Navy Seals went on to the al Qaeda base unprepared, they found it defended by landmines, snipers, and a larger than expected group of heavily armed Islamist militants.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said the raid was a glowing success, despite the few mishaps:

“Knowing that we killed an estimated 14 AQAP members and that we gathered an unbelievable amount of intelligence that will prevent the potential deaths or attacks on American soil – is something that I think most service members understand, that that’s why they joined the service.”

President Trump made an unannounced visit to Dover Air Force Base on Wednesday to pay his respect to the fallen US service member killed, Chief Petty Officer William “Ryan” Owens – the first person in the military to die under his administration."

President Barack Obama’s national security aides had reviewed the plans for a risky attack on a small, heavily guarded brick home of a senior Qaeda collaborator in a mountainous village in a remote part of central Yemen. But Mr. Obama did not act because the Pentagon wanted to launch the attack on a moonless night and the next one would come after his term had ended.

With two of his closest advisers, Jared Kushner and Stephen K. Bannon, joining the dinner at the White House along with Defense Secretary Jim Mattis and Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., Mr. Trump approved sending in the Navy’s SEAL Team 6, hoping the raid early last Sunday would scoop up cellphones and laptop computers that could yield valuable clues about one of the world’s most dangerous terrorist groups. Vice President Mike Pence and Michael T. Flynn, the national security adviser, also attended the dinner.

How Sunday's deadly joint US-United Arab Emirates counter-terrorism raid on an al Qaeda compound in Yemen was handed from the Obama to Trump administrations sheds light on the complications that occurred during the sometimes rocky transition of power and has led to a blame game between both camps.

Trump White House aides have defended the mission by saying that it was first considered and approved during Obama's time in office. But former senior government officials under Obama said the former President never signed off on the raid before leaving office. While the military discussed various options for actions in Yemen, the 44th president felt such action "represented a significant escalation of US involvement in Yemen," as one senior government official under Obama said.

Trump first learned of the plan the morning of Wednesday, January 25, days after he had been inaugurated, a White House official told CNN. James Mattis, Trump's secretary of defense, had already approved the raid by the time Trump learned of it, the official added.

Michael Flynn, Trump's national security adviser, presented the President with a written memo about the planned raid in the morning and the two discussed it a number of times during the day, the official said. Trump then asked Flynn to arrange a meeting so he could solicit advice from Mattis and Gen. Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Flynn, Dunford and Mattis laid out the scenario for Trump over dinner, explaining to the President -- who has no military experience -- that there are inherent risks with a mission like this.

Former National Security Council staff under President Barack Obama criticized what they said were the Trump White House's attempts to attribute the operation's approval to the previous administration. The raid left one Navy SEAL dead, three wounded and led to civilian casualties.

Trump provided final approval for the raid because it required a presidential green light, but it was months in the making and was okayed at several levels before getting to the President's desk. Trump staffers, military officials and Obama-era Pentagon officials have said that the raid was also approved by commanders and Obama's defense secretary.
Operational details, including the need for a moonless night, pushed the mission window back after January 20.

The idea for this post came from a book called The Holy Bible, and I strongly suggest that Republicans familiarize themselves with it. There are within it these so-called Ten Commandments.

Apparently you GO TO HELL FOR ETERNITY if you kiss them off and do patently evil shit like "bearing false witness," which is another way of saying "spew alternative facts."

Don't say no one warned you.

SEAL teams were not used for gathering cellphone and computer hardware. SEALs are to to extract hostages, kill terrorists, etc. The taking of the technical stuff could be real, but mentioning it also might be window dressing to make it appear that intel was gained to prevent future attacks.
