Just on Wayne Bessin shows guest was saying what the religious freedom rule means. The guest was explaining that it would allow "conscience' discrimination in both private and public arenas. That would include ANYONE the person deems not acceptable. That would be gays, women who have had abortions, atheists, people of other religions, transsexuals etc, etc. It would open up denying jobs, housing, medical care, at private AND government institutions. And it would include denying certain people from national parks, museums, restaurants, clubs, retail stores, voting, go government offices et al. Any individual of faith even in a government job could refuse service to someone they disapprove of. e.g. Kim Davis.
Such a dictum would unleash thousands of law suits. And the Christians want that rule in the Constitution.

(6,066 posts)...I could invoke a "religious freedom clause" to refuse service to a member of a child-molesting conspiracy?

(3,208 posts)women who have had abortions? I hear yellow stars won't be an option.
Because surely we will be needing some system so they will know who to discriminate against when it is not obvious, right?
