'I misspoke one word': Kellyanne Conway calls her critics 'haters' after Bowling Green fiasco

Kellyanne Conway wishes her critics would let the "Bowling Green massacre" thing go.

Chelsea Clinton, in particular, it seems.

"I misspoke one word," President Donald Trump's campaign manager-turned-presidential adviser told Fox News's Howard Kurtz, according to a preview of a yet-to-air interview. "The corrections in the newspapers that are attacking me are three paragraphs long every day."

Conway endured a day of mockery after she defended Trump's refugee ban to MSNBC's Chris Matthews by raising the specter of "the Bowling Green massacre."

"Most people don't know that because it didn't get covered," Conway told Matthews. There was no massacre at Bowling Green. Conway's comment instantly inspired memes.

... and the most nauseating thing about them is how, just like children - rotten, bullying, spoiled and selfish children - they constantly try to change and rig the rules their way so they can always "win."

Trump says such-and-such thing that turns out to be a lie? Shriek about haters and fake news, or just sob that Hillary was the real liar.

Trump engages in such-and-such illegal business practice? Moan about the meanies in the media and then cry that Obama did X-Y-Z (exaggerations or lies).

Good economic news? Praise Trump because it must have been due to his success. As soon as bad economic news hits? Blama and whine about Obama endlessly.

Makes me more irritated than to hear people like this say "misspoke" when that is clearly not what they did.

Conway did not "misspeak a single word" but created an entire narrative out of whole cloth, she uttered a complete falsehood.

My English comprehension is very good and I am no one's fool.

Truly is very irritating and an insult to our collective intelligence.

is appropriate when you get tongue-tied, have a brain-fart, or forget to say the word "not" in a sentence and it inadvertently changes the entire meaning of a sentence. Substituting the word "massacre" for another word is not misspeaking.

they quickly forgave bill clinton for his little slip-up about not having sexual relations with monica.

oh, wait. they impeached him for that.

but oh, then, hillary made a little mistake by doing exactly what her two predecessors as secretary of state did, setting up a private email server. and they forgave her quickly as well.

oh, wait. they had, what, nine investigations and pulled a very nasty dirty trick right before the election about that.

ok, no. sorry, conway. we'll forgive you after we try for as long as it takes to destroy your career. seems only fair.

oh, wait. no, you *still* haven't forgiven the clintons, so, no. even after we destroy your career, we still won't forget or forgive your lies.

People.

Not falling into her trap of parsing her words but coming straight at her sociopath Lies.

Don’t think of a rampaging elephant: Linguist George Lakoff explains how the Democrats helped elect Trump

snip//

After “Don’t Think of an Elephant” was published, you got a lot of attention but your message really didn’t sink in. I think it was largely because of what you said above — what you were saying simply didn’t fit into the Enlightenment worldview that Democratic elites took for granted from their education.

When I started teaching framing the first thing I would tell the class is “Don’t think of an elephant,” and of course, they think of an elephant. I wrote a book on it because the point is, if you negate a frame, you have to activate the frame, because you have to know what you’re negating. If you use logic against something, you’re strengthening it. And that lesson was not understood. So if people think in terms of logic — it’s a mistake that’s made every day on MSNBC — you go on there and you’ll get people saying, “Well, you know, Trump said this, and some Republicans said that and Jeff Sessions said this and here are the facts that show they’re wrong.” You just keep repeating the things that you’re negating. And that just strengthens them.

I read this on DU awhile ago and have been trying to put it into practice..

You see what he means?

It could be worst. You could be a immigrant praying you don't get ripped from your home and sent back to a war zone to be killed. Or you could have a chronic illness, and your just waiting for your health insurance to be taken away. So Miss Conway put your big girl panties on and shut the fuck up.

Maybe her addled mind somehow confused Bowling Green, KY with Bowling Green, OH and she thought Kent State, even though Kent State isn't in Bowling Green. If these people are ever autopsied, their skulls are likely to contain scrambled eggs.
