(6,974 posts)Are loyal Rethugs. They follow the money and the powerful influence and hate paying their fair share of taxes even though the rest of us have to.
IIRC, the Rooney Family who owns the Steelers are strong Democrats.
I've not followed Pro-football in over 15 years. Hell, the rules have changed the game too much for me making the product boring and not so good.

. . .either that or he flips Trump the finger right in his face.
Seriously, though, while I was pulling for the Falcons to win, I'm happy for Martellus Bennett getting a Super Bowl ring. Now he's even with his brother Michael (Seattle Seahawks)
And it would be a real hoot if The Nation sportswriter Dave Zirin hosted a town hall meeting with both brothers, just as he did with Michael:

(38,553 posts)Despite being that there were less than half that have never won a Super Bowl.
The Super Bowl has nothing to do with politics. Neither does the World Series, or the NBA Championship, nor the World Cup Soccer Championship, nor the US Open (golf or tennis).
These teams (or individuals) don't go into their sport thinking that they are representing a political view.
They go into the game hoping to perform to the best of their ability and hopefully win (and make some money).
I'm a Pats fan, but I have to tell you that if the Falcons had come back from 28-3, and they had won, I would give them their props. Because any team that does that deserves their props.
And as much as I enjoyed watching the Pats do what they did, the big winner of the night was Lady Gaga.
