That's all I care about. So heartwarming to watch. RESIST.

(86,572 posts)I went out to catch the end of the game around the last 10 mins of 3rd quarter. I Liked the NFL thing about the lines that end up being an outline of the US over the grid on the field and a message of inclusion. Seemed like most commercials had that sort of theme.

(39,370 posts)It's beautiful. I was in a wow, look at this mode. Then I saw the Stars and Stripes flying upside down from a barn with the Stars-and-Bars over it.
Americans should be happier.

(77 posts)I was just talking to my Roomate on the ride home from the watch party and he said something very similar.
What immediately made me feel off(something I admit I didn't feel watching the lovely ads during the game, especially the lumber one!) was that it seems so odd that all of a sudden the big corporations are on our team.
I have felt so betrayed since the comey letter that I feel I can't trust anything, and something just doesn't feel right having these corporations that have always put profit over people all of a sudden in our corner.

(115,681 posts)But the big corporations (the only advertisers who can afford SB ads) have come to realize that diversity is good business, plus the fact that they have employees from all over and they buy and sell things all over the world, so the last thing they want is restrictions on immigration and imports/exports. Trump's attitude towards immigrants (and his threats of trade wars) could be very damaging to them.

(58,785 posts)Plus, we're talking about people, not Stepford husbands. Many business leaders are appalled by trumpism in general, as well as worried about what its damages to our nation could mean to their companies.

(615 posts)It is bad for business to be anti- gay, or to not be inclusive. It took a long time fire them to come around but once they figured out that tapping into diversity is good for business and brand they will not go back. Make no mistake they will geind people to the bone and crush peoples souls but still they understand diversity is good for business.

(9,865 posts)....that buys their products is diverse. They are still following the money and they know that "Alt-right-all-white only" hurts their bottom line.
Coke has factories all around the world and sells to the world. They're huge in Asia, India, the Middle East. They know they can't be seen as Trump supporters.

No thanks. There's no karma link, no spiritual resonance. Pats won, Falcons lost. Game's over. Now it's on to spring training and another week full of Trumpy Drama.

Great Super Bowl ads this yr. Shows the country is moving in the right direction: pro-women, pro-environment, pro-immigrant, pro-diversity.

Every once in a while, there's a commercial that's well made and pushes a positive message as well as its product. This Audi commerical is one of those rare few. The commercial depicts a girl racing against boys in a soapbox derby while the voiceover makes an uncomplicated case that men and women should be valued equally. Seems like a pretty obvious thing to say. Here, watch the ad.
