(27,813 posts)My late husband, JeffR, was a baseball nut - he always said the same thing at the end of a Superbowl game!
He was a fan of the Marlins (born and raised in Miami) and the Blue Jays (we live in Toronto) - and had the pennants, T-shirts, baseball caps, and endless paraphernalia to prove it.
I always knew what day the Jays were "reporting for duty", as he'd count them down like a kid counting down the days before Christmas. And then, when the great day dawned, he'd put on his Jays baseball cap as soon as he got out of bed, and he'd have it on all day.
Thanks for reminding me of that - it's a very pleasant memory.

(4,858 posts)...with their amazing, historically potent line-up, they add Chris Sale to their pitching staff. I expect the AL East race to be over by memorial Day, and it's just a matter of getting the rotation set for the playoffs...by which time, the Pats will be 6-0 again...yawn...

(14,308 posts)I grew up watching Seaver, Koosman, etc.
I have a boxscore I kept from Shea Stadium in 1969. A young pitcher came in late in the game. I spelled his name Rayan. I wonder what ever became of him?

I was totally behind his Cubbies last year. And I still hope they do well.
But, I want to see the Indians win it all.
