Damn. Sick as a dog.

I thought I had just narrowly avoided the stomach bug that's been going around here in the outskirts of Philly, but last night it came for its next victim. I couldn't stop getting sick to my stomach last night. Now I'm home sick. To make matters worse we had wings and giant pulled pork sandwiches for the super bowl. Every time I drink or eat anything it comes back up. I've been drinking water to make it less painful.

Put two tablespoons of rice in a pot with 1 cup of water. Boil it until the rice is tender, then pour the rice water into a container and drink it. It can really help with vomiting and diarrhea.

...seriously sipping small amounts of Pedialyte can help with the dehydration, which is one of the main concerns with anything stomaching/intestiney.

Feel better....

make a cup of regular tea and add 1/4 - 1/3 tsp of cooking thyme to it and take small sips at first. By the time you've finished half the cup you should be able to at least take water and other clear fluids. Get some Gatorade (I know, it's got issues) to regain the essential electrolytes you desperately need right now. Try a clear fluid diet for about 24 hrs. and rest.

and needing an ambulance to cart you off to the hospital for IV fluids.

If you can send somebody out to the grocery, tell them to get a couple of packs of Pedialyte. It will replace the electrolytes you've been losing from both ends. In a pinch, Gatorade will do.

If you're no better in another 12 hours, think about going to the ER. It might be food poisoning from the game goodies.
