Pence Constantly Refers to "The American People."

I've never seen him say anything on camera without telling us what "The American People" want. He uses the phrase multiple times in most of his remarks. The Republicans have been doing that since almost forever. They think that if they refer to "The American People" as support for their argument that they win.

We need to find a way to make it clear that we are also "The American People," and we really, really disagree with his nonsense. We need to take that phrase back and make it a mistake for Republicans to use it.

WE ARE THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AND YOU'RE WRONG, PENCE!

That again, even as a dig. Pence will get thrown on the trash heap of history with Trump in less than four years.

But oddly from social security, to bank regulations, to abortion...the polls all indicate that ordinary people don't support their position.

The GOP's secret is the large amount of voting Americans that hold their nose to their well-being to vote out of anger, racism, jingoism etc...

Even the dissenters fall in line on critical votes. Fear is a powerful motivator.

In his mind, he will soon be in the oval office. This American person is not real thrilled at the thought.

And here all my education suggested that 77.3% was greater than 22.7%. Silly me.

Vice President Pence may not be quite the authority on the preferences and desires of the American people that he thinks he is.

7. Yes - Republican leaders use that phrase a lot!

Of course, they really mean "The minority who voted for us." But that doesn't impress anyone. They also have a habit of using an interesting adjective to describe legislation or the repeal of popular programs - they consistently refer to their unpopular actions as "commonsense" legislation or "commonsense" reductions in programs. This makes it sound like anyone who disagrees with their approach is out of touch, or obstinate. They have a lot of wordsmiths helping them construct their statements.
