Having trouble with finding your Mouse Pointer?

On high-resolution screens, the default mouse pointer looks pretty small. When I got a new Windows 10 PC and monitor, the 1920 X 1080 resolution made it tough to locate the pointer instantly when i wanted to see it.

If that's happening to you, go to the control panel and select Mouse from the hardware options, click the Pointer tab and selected a larger size or different color for the pointer in the Schemes dropdown list. There are a number of options, and you may find one you like better.

2. I have large icons for all my mouse pointer phases.

Every time I start work someplace new, one of the first things I do is copy my handy icons over and change my mouse pointers.

3. XP had an option to highlight cursor with ctrl

I think it was a setting in the control panel.

Not sure if W10 still has this option. (I'm a mac and Linux user)

4. That option is still available in Windows 10.

It works on all mouse pointers in all situations. You set it in the Mouse dialog box from the Control Panel. Under Pointer Options. I don't particularly care for it, nor do I like mouse trails, which you can also set in that same dialog.

There are so many things you can do to customize your Mouse. Most people are unaware of them. That's true of all sorts of things in Windows in all versions. For people who like to customize the way their system operates, visiting the control panel and clicking on various hardware peripherals lets you adjust how they work.

Digging into the Windows interface and modifying how it behaves is worth doing.
