Republicans fear for their safety as Obamacare protests grow

House Republicans during a closed-door meeting Tuesday discussed how to protect themselves and their staff from protesters storming town halls and offices in opposition to repealing Obamacare, sources in the room told POLITICO.

House GOP Conference Chairwoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers invited Rep. David Reichert, a former police sheriff, to present lawmakers with protective measures they should have in place. Among the suggestions: having a physical exit strategy at town halls, or a backdoor in congressional offices to slip out of, in case demonstrations turn violent; having local police monitor town halls; replacing any glass office door entrances with heavy doors and deadbolts; and setting up intercoms to ensure those entering congressional offices are there for appointments, not to cause chaos.

How about just not sentencing thousands of Americans to death by taking their health care away? That might be a fucking plan!

“For those of us who have children in grade school and that kind of thing, there’s a factor in all of this, saying: How far will the progressive movement go to try to intimidate us?”

Project much? On all of the message boards, action groups, etc, I have yet to see 1 suggestion that anyone should even confront their families, let alone harm their kids. It's just not out there.

And if they are really this worried about the mobs with pitchforks and torches, maybe they should spare a few moments to wondering what got people so riled up in the first place.

What snowflakes.

Oh FFS! The protests have been peaceful, except for a handful of organized thugs (Black Bloc assholes) at a few marches. These republican chicken shits will use any excuse to drum up fear.

IIRC a few had their offices vandalized.

Then less than a year later, there was an asassination attempt on Gabby Giffords.
