In a way, I feel lucky

I am a 66 year old male of European descent with no children. I need not fear for myself. Defunding Planned Parenthood will not make a difference in my personal health care. Privatizing public schools will not affect me directly. Closing our borders will not harm me in any way. Wall street has already done its damage to me, and I probably will have to continue to work for the rest of my life.

I do not fear the future for myself.

I do, however, have loved ones. I do, however, care about my family and friends who will feel the impact of this misadministration's policies. It is for them, not for myself, that I will resist. I will resist with every fiber of my being. I will resist because it is the right thing to do. I will resist because justice is more vital than prosperity.

Please join me.

I am old, but everything is paid for, no mortgages, etc. My wife and I plan to provide housing for friends and relatives who lose their pensions, etc. We expect to have sort of an old pensioners' commune. Might be fun.

and not just his friends. Especially if he's still working. Healthcare, worker protections, etc. is all on the line.

Hell, even rich people will be affected when the EPA is systematically dismantled. Unless they have a special source of air and water that I'm unaware of.

Not to mention what could happen to all of us if Trump goes crazy with the nuke codes.

I just read the part about feeling lucky and not worried.

I'm scared shitless, so the title just got to me.

I have already lost my financial security when we lost our house. As a 60 something I am not looking forward to old age which is breathing down my neck. If we lose our health insurance too, it's over.

"I do not fear the future for myself."

It is the future of the planet that should concern all. I will continue to Resist. There is no other viable choice when faced with this assault on our dignity as human beings.

I do not personally need Planned Parenthood. I did not have children but have gladly paid taxes to support public schools. Every citizen deserves a solid education if we are to continue to function as a safe and fair society. We have an administration that does not share those goals. We have an amateur and ignorant administration.
