http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trump-administration-leaks_us_589a45f1e4b04061313a1fbb?So he made a call ― except not to any of the business leaders Trump brought into his administration or even to an old friend from his days in real estate. Instead, he called his national security adviser, retired Lt. Gen. Mike Flynn, according to two sources familiar with Flynns accounts of the incident.
Flynn has a long record in counterintelligence but not in macroeconomics. And he told Trump he didnt know, that it wasnt his area of expertise, that, perhaps, Trump should ask an economist instead.
Trump was not thrilled with that response ― but that may have been a function of the time of day. Trump had placed the call at 3 a.m., according to one of Flynns retellings ― although neither the White House nor Flynns office responded to requests for confirmation about that detail.
For Americans who based their impression of Trump on the competent and decisive tycoon he portrayed on his Apprentice TV reality shows, the portrait from these and many other tidbits emerging from his administration may seem a shock: an impulsive, sometimes petty chief executive more concerned with the adulation of the nation than the details of his own policies ― and quick to assign blame when things do not go his way.
Unsurprisingly, Trumps volatile behavior has created an environment ripe for leaks from his executive agencies and even within his White House. And while leaks typically involve staffers sabotaging each other to improve their own standing or trying to scuttle policy ideas they find genuinely problematic, Trumps 2-week-old administration has a third category: leaks from White House and agency officials alarmed by the presidents conduct.

(8,656 posts)This whole up all night making tweets ranting and phone calls is basically a cry for help, his subconcious is basically screaming "Help me".
This is not going to end well.
They could manage it when he was a TV person and could hide behind cameras, he cant hide now and i suspect a very public mental break will happen soon.
This will end in resignation or the 25th getting enacted.

(52,205 posts)anyone who saw that show even once would know that he portrays a horrendous manager who sows discord and conflict in his team, encourages back-stabbing, rewards lying, and is pleased with those who "win" by any means.
although everyone on the show was for some reason begging to win and work for him, it's obvious that he'd be a horrible person to actually work for. he made basic, textbook management mistakes all over the place.
decisive, ok, i'll give him that. but competent? *no f------ way*.

(52,205 posts)contrast this to gordon ramsey on hell's kitchen. sure, much of what ramsey does could easily be Hollywood fakery. we obviously can't taste or smell the food, so other than visual cues, we have to take his word as to judgment. who's to say if there's not enough salt, e.g.
but at least there are occasional moments where ramsey is giving very specific cooking advice. not saying it's brilliant advice, but at least he's showing some kind of actual expert knowledge.
donnie never seemed to do *any* of that on the apprentice. praise the winners, knock the losers, get the people arguing, then fire one of the losers. that's it. he never seemed to shed any light on how to better run a business or anything.

(4,394 posts)it's that his first impulse when he doesn't know something isn't to Google it and learn something. It's to call a random person he trusts and get them to explain it to him/make the decision for him.
This is why he's so easy to manipulate.
