As much as my rational, sensible self knows it would be best for the country if this administration finds some way to get its act together, a big part of me just wants Trump to cause something to go so catastrophically wrong that his moronic voters won't be able to deny they were conned and made a mistake. I'm not sure what that something could be. I don't want anyone to die. I think that something like gas prices or food prices soaring would be too easy for them to ignore saying "lalala" with their fingers in their ears. It wouldn't really be something going "wrong," but evidence that he paid for abortions might make the pro-life voters realize how easily duped they were. Even then, I'm sure they'd resort to the, "He's repented for his sins," argument.
I just really want to see these assholes eat their words in a big way.

(9,313 posts)You aren't hoping for "bad things." You are hoping for early diagnosis and treatment.
The nation is sick. Over and over, we've had a choice: make some serious lifestyle changes that will vastly improve our health, or take a cocktail of various poisons (some of which make you feel good for a while).
There are some exceptions, but in general, the electorate goes for the poisonous cocktail. (With the concoction offered by DT and Reight-Wingnuts in Congress being the most poisonous to date.)
The question is, how long will it take for the symptoms to manifest? Soon enough for the electorate to recognize what's happening, stop taking the poison, make those lifestyle changes, and get healthy? Or will the poison act 'silently," until there is a massive collapse, and a long, painful recovery?
Better for "bad things" to happen sooner rather than later.

(22,756 posts)we all want to make this nightmare go away but have no clue what to do... we are angry, horrified, disgusted and so very sad that the Country we love is being abused and exploited the way it is...
I understand what you are feeling... I am trying not to hate, but to turn my anger into action... it is very difficult to feel in any way I can make a difference
"When they go Low, We go High" is so very hard to do right now

(12,310 posts)That botched raid in Yemen would have been reported on and whined about non-stop if a Democrat had done it. Let's face it. They have commandeered the "news". Nothing bad will ever be attributed to them. To see this gives me severe heartburn everyday.

(42,770 posts)a Trump presidency WITH 100% Republican control. I always thought just Trump would be bad enough - but it was always in the context of the way things were - with us in the Senate.
The fact that he sat a dinner table without briefings and input from top military officials and said "go for it" on Yemen is abhorrent.

(59,583 posts)Could remind people of climate, environment and scientific issues . . .
Then again, Trump voters would likely attribute it to the will of Gaw-duh and move on to blame Obama, because reasons.
