Obama's "complaints' were justified in that right wingers and their pet media personalities were vicious about him and disagreed with ANY of his policies , even if they'd previously supported them if they'd come from a Republican. BUT he NEVER whined or cried or took things to a personal level...even though they were VERY personal. The despicable Mitch McConnell bragged about obstructing him; NOT considering his individual polices, just opposing him as a person.

It's a difference between the childish, self-centered malignant narcissism of Trump's ceaseless boo-hoo-hoos and whining that people/entities are being mean to HIM PERSONALLY - vs. every other president that has held the office voicing complaint that an entity is obstructing an agenda or policy they argue is favorable to the nation.

BTW, you say "Purely depending on politics people change their definitions of 'complaining[sic]'." This being Democratic Underground, the people here are largely Democrats. It's a site for Democrats, to promote Democrats. Your statement seems to impugn the "politics" of Democrats here.

Comrade Casino and crew is complaining that SNL is being "mean" that "criticism is demoralizing to him."

No, Hillary never said that criticism or satire of her was "mean," if that is the hair you want to split.

The kind that rail against "minorities on welfare" - and then grow up to be cheats and even grifters themselves.

The kind that extol "the power of the free market" and the "makers" - while relying on the ol' boy network and other unethical advantages at every turn (if they can).

The kind that bemoan the "gay agenda" - while being gay or least bi themselves, often having double lives as adults (this describes many GOP politicians in particular).

The kind that lash out against "femi-Nazis" - while being abusive toward women in their own lives.

And so on.

Point all this out to them the next time they go on the attack, Cosmocat. It drives them crazy.

Just ask anyone who works in your local government how they feel about, say, food stamps, and they will rail against poor people. As they get paid with taxpayer dollars, and have a nice cushy government pension and health benefits.

They are the definition of cronyism.

Both sides engage in patronage and cultivate cronies, sure. But nothing comes close in this country as far as state cronyism as does the MIC - almost all Republicans.

The only kind that does comes close (though privately-funded), is the massive lobbyopolis that has developed around the Washington Beltway and many state capitals over the last 50 years. Corporate lobbyists throw money at both parties, sure; but they definitely have a favorite.

Between the two, they add up to a veritable crony state-within-a-state - the very thing the Founding Fathers tried to prevent.

Although I like and respect Hillary Clinton I believe she did complain about people being mean to her. She did not complain to the level of Donald Trump, but she did point out that some did not treat her fairly. President Obama complained about how Fox News treated him, but for he most part he did not complain about being treated unfairly, or about people being mean to him. I will also say that Bernie Sanders did not complain about people being mean to him although he claimed the DNC primaries were rigged in Hillary Clinton's favor. I am not a Sanders supporter; I am just trying to call things as I see them.
