Her stuff was for the well to do suburban matron in her 30s who wanted to hang onto her youth just a little longer. Kids weren't going to go without food to afford one or two pieces because they were too conservative for teenagers and 20 somethings.

That well to do suburban matron has either started to fall into the working class or hubby has put her on a clothing diet until the economy improves, something that is not going to happen while wages are low and he votes for Republicans to keep them that way.

Some designers in her price range will stay afloat by producing things that be that one special piece in someone's closet. Ivanka's stuff just wasn't all that special.
