The f---ing president of the U S doesn't know the advantages and disadvantages of a strong dollar.

I know that clown took some course at the Wharton School while he was at Penn but doesn't have an MBA. Hell, a freshman at a state college can give you the answer if he or she took Economics 101:

The president’s 3 a.m. phone call is typically a metaphor. It’s a symbol of the president’s ability to handle a crisis. But in the case of President Donald Trump, it appears to be a revealing reality.

According to the Huffington Post, Donald Trump recently placed a late-night phone call to Mike Flynn, his national security adviser, to ask if a strong dollar or a weak dollar is better for the U.S. economy. In the early rounds of commentary on television and Twitter, several people have mocked the president for staying up late, pondering questions that might appear on an Econ 101 exam.

Again, we are reminded he doesn't understand the most basic things about economics.

Then he decides he MUST KNOW this at 3 a.m. I guess if he's not sleeping he thinks no one else should. And he calls Flynn, which makes no sense.

Plus, whether a strong dollar is good depends on a number of factors, policies, time-horizon, etc. Don't think it's really that simple. Now calling your security advisor for economic advice is frightening.

For exporters, not so much. But our currently strong dollar is one of the reasons we have trade imbalances. Our exports are relatively expensive.

Jobs and resultant boost to wages would be a good thing too. It's just not that simple

Considering that the price of oil is creeping back up, the 1-2 punch of costlier oil and inflation could make for much higher gas prices, which higher food prices too.

I know. It's complicated. But the President should still know these things.

He went to Wharton! The hardest school to get into in the entire WORLD! Only the very smartest people get into Wharton and he graduated at the top of his class! Ok, well maybe not the top, but not the very bottom. And maybe it wasn't the MBA program, but it was Wharton. And maybe he only got in because of connections and money, but still. He is a VERY smart person!

You never really looked at his track record. Sure, he's a businessman, but he's a FAILED businessman. And he's probably "rich" the way most any of us appear well-to-do: in hock up to his eyeballs. Two guesses who he's likely in hock TO, and it's not the superpower in the WESTERN hemisphere...

It could have just as easily been about where he could get a "thong and collar". After all it was 3 am and he was in the mood for an easy D.
