Just a heads up re: Standing Rock. My go-to source is Ruth Hopkins' twitter feed, and

#NoDAPL

Ruth is an award-winning writer for Indian Country Today, and it appears they've begun drilling again, plus outside players are hauling truckloads of trash in and dumping it, thus making the camps appear unsanitary, hence: a "shut 'em down due to health threat" ploy

No news link, as...well, there rarely is one...but here's Ms. Hopkins:

The camps were shut down because they are low and will flood when the Missouri floods as the snow melts. Some people are there cleaning up the camps, including tents and other equipment that people left for others to use or just left when they went home.

The camps also closed because the tribal council voted it was time to close then and proceed in court, which they are doing.

My friends supported the camps, appreciate all those who have helped bring this issue to the publics attention.

There are some schisms there.
