Dear Senator Schumer

I just finished reading about your comments on the treatment of Senator Warren by Republican Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.

I'll cut to the chase.

Words matter and your use of the word "colleague" at least twice serves to minimise the offensive behaviour of the Republican from Kentucky and Republican party Senators.

The term "colleague" implies that the individual is a fellow worker who is perhaps a person who is working to achieve a common goal.

The Republican party has shown no inclination to work with Democrats since President Obama was first elected.

Your use of the term "colleague" only serves to enable Republican party members behaviour.

I believe that this persistent tendency to minimize the egregious behaviour by Republicans is why they continue to do it.

Please stop.

Call it like it is.

They are Republicans....

And until they change the way they behave they are NOT your colleagues.

Regards.

P.S. if you need any help understanding this I'm pretty certain Amy can help.

I did not expect him to be the fighter and leader he has been. Not as good as Harry would have been though. He had had it with them and was telling it like it is. I don't think Harry Reid would have retired, in spite of his health, but he thought hillary would win, and we would probably take the Senate. At least he and we got a Dem in, and she seems to be doing well, especially for first term.
