The only courts or press that Trump sees as legitimate are those that bow to his will. All others are fake, very, very dishonest, unfair or some such.



This is not the behavior of a man who respects the independence of the judiciary or who grants any “deference to separation of powers,” as Obama improvised in 2010. This is a tyrant who sees power as a zero-sum game: The exercise of it by another branch means diminution of his own.

I don't think he wants to be anything other than what he's been for decades; hence his inability to act more maturely or to focus on others' needs.

What he wanted was to terrify the people who laughed at his presidential run, and that's all he seems to be doing. Seems pretty clear that he hates the White House and all the boring things Bannon wants him in photos for. I think he misses his tower, where it was so easy to pretend that everyone envied him.

I've been wrong for two years about him being on the verge of quitting, but maybe I haven't been so very wrong. I will not be surprised if he finds an excuse to resign, but I can't for the life of me imagine how he'll save face. I supect that conundrum is driving him bugfuck.
