Former Tory UK MP shreds 'draft-dodger' Trump over Yemen raid: 'This isn't sports -- this is war'
Conservative former Member of the U.K. Parliament Louise Mensch tore into Pres. Donald Trump on Thursday over his attacks on Sen. John McCain, a situation she described as an “American zero” attacking “an American hero.”
Anchor Stephanie Ruhle was leading a panel discussion of Trump’s Thursday morning Twitter tirade aimed at Sen. John McCain (R-AZ). Trump was furious that McCain — a Vietnam veteran, former prisoner of war and decorated war hero — criticized Trump’s botched raid in Yemen that killed dozens of civilians and Navy SEAL William Ryan Owens.
“American hero John McCain versus American zero Donald Trump,” Mensch said. “Bone-spur Bob, draft-dodger, the guy with the ouchie foot dares to tell Sen. McCain, war hero, that he shouldn’t be commenting on military missions.”
She continued, “This isn’t about the failed raid in Yemen. This is about the fact that Sen. McCain went on the Senate floor yesterday and ripped Donald Trump a new one for saying that America and Russia are the same, for saying, ‘What, our nation’s so innocent?’ and praising Vladimir Putin. He hates McCain because McCain’s standing up to him on Russia.”
