I really believe that at the root of the ruling re: Travel ban...

is the Presidential Oath of Office. It says, flat out, that the President's prime duty is to protect and defend the Constitution, not to protect people and property. By extension, even though the Pres has strong powers to protect p&p he cannot violate Constitutional protections to do so.

Plus, Trump's fear-mongering aside, this does not mean that we are disbanding ICE and DHS FFS. What it means is that we continue to follow a system that has been laid down and put together that has kept us pretty safe since 9/11. Trumplodytes have been scared into thinking otherwise.

I have given it, taken it and upheld it. It gets a little more detailed for elected officials.

including things about obeying legal orders and such.

But yeah, basically the same all up and down the hierarchy.
