In 2010, Prince walked away from America. He sold Blackwater – it’s now called Academi – and moved his family to Abu Dhabi, though he kept a part-time place in Northern Virginia. He has been out of the spotlight, but he’s been building private security and anti-piracy forces for Arab princes and countries, and helping Chinese investors extract oil and gas from Africa.
Over the years, Prince has resurfaced from time to time. Shortly before November’s election, he did an interview with Breitbart News, the alt-right media platform formerly run by Steve Bannon, now President Donald Trump’s chief strategist.
During the interview, Prince claimed to have insider knowledge about Hillary Clinton’s email scandal, saying evidence of money laundering and pedophilia were being covered up by the Obama administration.
Judging by his comments, Prince is back – firmly in Washington’s new fold.
