You know what role the US-President plays in action-movies?
He's the guy whose portrait is hanging on the wall in government-offices. He's the guy who gives orders by telephone but never appears on screen.
Now imagine the Trump-Presidency as a backdrop for a movie:
- "Terminator": The Terminator is shooting up an entire police-precinct. What would movie-Trump do?
- "Jurassic Park": People get eaten by cloned dinosaurs. What would movie-Trump do?
- "ET": An alien from outer space illegally immigrates into the US, befriends a boy and lives with him. What would movie-Trump do?
- "The Arrival": Aliens from outer space arrive in public. The linguists must establish communication before the politicians start a war. What would movie-Trump do?
- "Harry Potter, Narnia...": Turns out that magic is real. What would movie-Trump do?
- The government has a super-secret, super-powerful thingy they have never used because it's a final resort in case of an apocalyptic event. What would movie-Trump do?
- A crisis. The only hope is to trust the experts and scientists and let them do their thing. What would movie-Trump do?
Would any such movie work with a President Trump as an extra?
Or would the movie-goer just KNOW that Trump would just jump at any chance to insert himself into a crisis?
For example:
President Obama and Senator McCain have appeared as background-characters in Marvel-comics. This was possible because everybody knows they aren't important anyway. Now imagine an Avengers-movie where the director of SHIELD is installed by the Trump-administration.
