this so called President is ignoring. You have to wonder how morally bankrupt they must be to not even have an inkling of basic ethics trampled by using ones elected office for personal profit.

(111,243 posts)and civil law is meaningless to many of them. The way they know god's law is being followed is by seeing rich men pulling all the strings. If a man is rich, he is obviously blessed by god and is carrying out god's work.
Rich man's Calvinist determinism and prosperity theology have told them so.
This is what we're up against.

(6,535 posts)it's unfortunate that the bullshit testing-proficiency approach has been allowed to hold sway for so long now. And even before then, they basically stopped teaching civics quite a while ago.
This (by which I mean utter corruption) seems like such a basic concept, though...I think a great many people are just utterly incurious and apathetic, and that apathy is actively encouraged by those who would (and do) take advantage of people and profit from their ignorance.
