President Trump was reportedly unhappy with White House spokesman Sean Spicer after he said that top aide Kellyanne Conway had been "counseled" over her comments regarding Ivanka Trump's fashion brand.

A source with direct knowledge of President Trump's comments told The Associated Press in a report published Friday that the president thought the statement was unfair to Conway.

The source said Trump told his staff that Spicer's comment made Conway look as if she were in trouble at the White House.

On Thursday morning, Conway sparked a flurry of criticism when she publicly defended Trump's daughter after Nordstrom decided to stop stocking her brand.
