Yes, watching Piers Morgan being told to fuck off on live TV is *exactly* as satisfying as I'd always imagined. twitter.com/ditzkoff/status/830265494389321728

@piersmorgan If only you'd read Harry Potter, you'd know the downside of sucking up to the biggest bully in school is getting burned alive.

She's fantastic! I have never read Harry Potter, but my nieces and nephews love the books. Maybe time to become a fan.

I introduced my oldest grandson at about the age of 12 to the first Harry Potter book. I had read it myself, thinking I would have LOVED that fantasy at age 12; So I read and enjoyed all the books as they came along, each one better than the last, along with him and his brothers!!! Truly generational transcending.

Quotable lines from the books, usually by Dumbledore, that reflect truths about society, and also good advice to Harry.

If you like etymology, you'll enjoy the magic and pre-determining characteristics of characters.

"Dark times lie ahead of us and there will be a time when we must choose between what is easy and what is right." in Goblet of Fire is really applicable to the real world, today. Unfortunately, too many people chose what was easy on November 8th last year.

....and how to combat it. Wands and broomsticks not necessarily needed.

I started reading them to my grandson when he was 5, and read them all. The first 2 are for younger kids, but even then we ended up with a LOT to discuss, like bullying. He was spending weekends with me, and his baby sister had just died. We talked about death, at his instigation.

After that the themes become darker. By the time the Ministry of Magic sends Dolores Umbridge to take over Hogwarts, children find themselves inteoduced to the meaning of totalitarian dictatorship, with all its abundant mental and physical cruelties. It's not for the very young at that point, but he was probably 9 by then.

Piers should not talk about "superior, dismissive arrogance" he oozes it out of very pore. Haven't see/heard about him for years, hope this does not mark a comeback.

I would have loved if she had said, yeah but plenty of people did which is why I'm worth $900 million and you're hosting a dumb morning show on TV in a desperate attempt to stay relevant.

My favourite response is still when she told people threatening to burn her books and DVDs to go ahead because she still has the money. :-D
