Thank you DU
I've been on DU a long time but I rarely post these days. Still, two very wonderful DU members gave me a heart. Thank you.
This site still informs, infuriates, and challenges me. I joined right after 9/11 when it seemed everyone was praising * when I knew how horrible he was. I went searching for sanity and found DU. Here I found friendship, passion, knowledge, and a sense that I was not alone. I was also pushed to become more active politically and I did. Thank you.
We are in horrible times again. Nowadays, I try to post less and engage more but I still find DU necessary.

It was after 9/11 and all that ridiculous jingoistic nonsense and war that went with W that I found myself as a true liberal and feminist. I attended the 2004 March For Women's Lives and I knew I had found my path. I divorced my conservative Republican husband and re-invented myself as a total Democratic liberal woman.
I found DU and loved it. (I was Kath1 prior to the hacking.) This is an oasis of sanity and free speech that I need with that horrible, hateful man now occupying the White House.
