Kellyanne Conway: Media wants to "poke, dissect and wonder" about Melania

Kellyanne Conway defends Melania Trump after Hollywood tabloid prints ‘nonsense’ story

“Melania has plenty of a public role. The woman is beautiful inside and out. She’s brilliant; she speaks five languages,” Conway said. “She is a loving and supportive wife and mother. And I have to say a great friend and great role model to many of us who work closely with the president and first family.”

Conway went on to explain that the media “can’t stand” the fact that Melania doesn’t want to be a super public figure and be completely open with the details of her personal life.

“They want to see, they want to poke, they want to dissect and wonder. I so admire the fact that Melania Trump, our first lady, is so comfortable in her own skin that she doesn’t have to disprove anybody’s negative stories or even positive stories,” Conway explained.

“She has nothing to prove to anyone,” she added. “As she represents this nation, she will do it with dignity and class and elegance and eloquence.”

Whatever Happened to Melania Trump's Anti-Cyberbullying Campaign?

No one in the anti-cyberbullying world has heard from her. Not even Monica Lewinsky.

STEPHANIE MENCIMER FEB. 7, 2017 6:00 AM

http://www.motherjones.com/politics/2017/02/whatever-happened-melania-trumps-anti-cyberbullying-campaign

On November 3, Melania Trump gave a rare speech on the campaign trail for her husband, Donald. At the end of the speech, she made an announcement: If her husband were elected, she would focus on combating cyberbullying from the White House. "We have to find a better way to talk to each other, to disagree with each other, to respect each other," she said. "We must find better ways to honor and support the basic goodness of our children, especially in social media. It will be one of the main focuses of my work if I'm privileged enough to become your first lady."

The announcement was met with derision by people who noted that her husband was perhaps the world's most prominent cyberbully. Lady Gaga tweeted at Melania directly:

Three months later, Melania Trump is indeed first lady. But what of her pledge to take up cyberbullying? Mother Jones contacted a wide range of organizations and individuals who work on cyberbullying, and not a single one of them reported being contacted by Trump or anyone in the Donald Trump administration.

"No one has reached out to us as of yet," says Sameer Hinduja, co-director of the Cyberbullying Research Center and a professor at Florida Atlantic University. "People are posting unsolicited editorials in our space, asking Melania to do this or do that in an open letter on various sites, but her and her team have not reached out to us or anyone we know. And it's a pretty small circle of experts, so you'd think we'd have heard by now."

Many First Ladies of the past have hated the publicity the position requires. Most recently Michelle Obama HATED being in the spotlight. Hated public speaking. But she did it for Barrack, and proved to be VERY GOOD at it. Malania's going to have to put up with it. If she's everything you say, all will work out fine. As long as YOU stay the hell out of it!

"...who work closely with the president and first family."
What about the rest of us?
First Ladies may have non-elected roles, but they traditionally have played a public role not just as hostesses, but because of their relationship to the president have often been approached to advocate for certain notable causes. Over our history First ladies have come to have their own staff and typically have demanding schedules beyond being "...a loving and supportive wife and mother." We have come to expect to see First Ladies take up important community service roles with at least one of particular focus, which can be anything from advocating to remove the stigma of mental health (Rosalyn Carter) to better health (through food) and fitness of our nation's youth (Michelle Obama).
Of course they play important role models and everything they do and wear is of interest--they can be trendsetters.
If Melania wants to keep her life private, as Conway claims, she should probably have made it clear that she had no wish to step into the very public role of First Lady from the get-go, or told Donald that she had no desire to support him as he ran to become POTUS.
Perhaps she should start putting her ability to speak several languages to good use.
Meanwhile, she should move into the White House and stop passing on the extra expense of maintaining security for her and Barron at Trump Tower to the rest of us as we all get jack shit from her.

Hey--she's a 10 according to Donald. We should all foot the bill for his arm candy score AND be envious of him and/or jealous of her.
Meanwhile, we can remember how when Hillary Clinton was First Lady she led a task force on health care reform.

to sit around in her gilded tower and occasionally fly on AF1 for a photo op I think we're entitled to know what she's up to.

Although there is no formal definition of a president's wife's role, traditionally she (or her stand-in) has been responsible for supervising the White House and planning state dinners; in the last half-century the role has expanded to include advocating social actions that were important to her (Johnson's Highway Beautification, the Bushes' literacy programs, Obama's health and nutrition advocacy, Clinton's health care programs, even Reagan's anti-drug stance). Ms Trump doesn't seem to stand for anything, though. So her English isn't up to Michelle Obama standards - she can find an interpreter to help her if needed. She doesn't like being a public person? She can open a Twitter or Facebook account and advocate there.

Come to think of it, immigrants' rights would be a great topic for her!

Once we see her buck naked, she can't pretend she has something to hide from prying eyes. And "dignity and class and elegance and eloquence” are not the adjectives I would use to describe a gold-digging, plastic, amoral strumpet. Sorry. I've seen about as much of the Third Spouse naked as her pig of a husband--money-bag has. CONway can't now say that the Third Spouse wants prying eyes to not look at her. And imagine, the birthing hussy claims that she wants to stop cyber-bullying, and her husband aka money-bag is one of the, if not THE biggest, nastiest cyber-bully out there in the WORLD.

He does not really respect her and he behaves as though he thinks she might embarrass him. He seems to always be directing her under his breath between the fake smiling teeth. She forces smiles when camera are on and she is aware of public eyes scrutinizing her. When she lapses into moments of unawareness she looks very bored, if not sad. I don't think she wanted 45 to be President and she longs for her privacy. I also think she is an emotionally and verbally abused spouse. I volunteer with a counseling group to abused women and she exhibits a lot of the signs.

Every word out of her mouth is designed to charm Trump into a juicy Cabinet position. I don't think she cares if Melania is happy or climbing the walls in Trump Tower.

I don't know anything about Barron. I don't want or need to know anything about Barron. But my guess is that he is the only source of love in her life. She probably knows she's Trump's trophy, and since she's not the biological mom of the other offspring, they probably view her as dad's trophy too.

My guess is that the amount of genuine "friends" Melania has is "0."
