The only think I care about with the next DNC chair.

Is that whoever gets it brings us electoral victories.

I don't care who the person supported in the 2016 primaries.
I don't care what wing of the party the person comes from.
I don't care about whatever time that person may have supported a position I disagree with.
I don't care if the person is a veteran politico or an outsider.
I don't care about anything except winning more seats for Democrats.

It's unfortunate that the DNC contest is being billed as "Hillary vs Bernie part 2". We can't afford that. Whatever ideological divides remain within the Democratic party, they are trivial compared to the threat that Trump poses.

The same goes for the candidates the Dems put up in 2018 and 2020. What matters is winning elections.

3. The damage done by Deb Wasserman Shultz will take time to heal.

She was such a negative person and was in the tank for Hillary and pissed off the Bernie folks. Tom Perez seems to be an improvement but I am excited about Pete Butegieg. He is young and inspiring and has great ideas.

4. Think they tried that approach - funneling money to individual races. Way too narrow

and Minnesota would have been ours. The way it was handled, it was like, look into the 8 ball and guess where to target! Oh yeah, we didn't want to take a chance of stirring up the Trumpsters if we went aggressively into those states.

...but I'm a lawyer. (There are some people who go off sometimes, but considering the number of posts, number of people, and topics, that's to be expected.) It is Someplace safe to let off steam with people who pay attention to what is going on, even if there is not 100% agreement. Wouldn't that be boring?

I HOPE our exchanges of different opinions are appreciated. Sometimes, not so much.

Occasionally, some AH will get belligerent, but it is rare.
Mostly, it is good.

We need a moneyball database geek who will hire 100 more data geeks to study every single precinct and get some freaking NUMBERS to the polls. Those people can HIRE a marketing company to inspire the masses if needed, but first we have to identify where are votes are, have many we have and exactly how many we need.

I don't care if he/she has the personality of a wet blanket.

I don't give a rat's ass about fancy cocktail fundraisers.

We need to get out the vote.

Perez, who is presumably the "establishment" choice, couldn't say enough bad things about how inexcusably incompetent Debbie Wasserman Schultz was at her job.

Instead of Bernie vs. Hillary it should really be about repeating the same mistakes under DWS's failed leadership vs. change in this new grassroots era under a Trump presidency. Watching some of these DNC forums has opened my eyes to how embarrassingly secretive and inefficient the DNC has been lately. Vice chairs have no idea where money is going. Consultants want to stay connected to the gravy train and drain money away from state parties. State parties have barely any money to hold elections next year and in 2018. It's a mess and needs some fundamental changes.

All I want is someone who is passionately dedicated to building up the Democratic Party into an electoral powerhouse.
