Keep the heat on Mike Pence.
Flynn has consistently stated that he never discussed "sanctions" with the Russian ambassador after they were placed on Russia by President Obama, after they interfered with our elections.
VP Mike Pence went on nationwide TV to vouch for Flynn and the Administration. No, the calls to the Russian embassy was to offer Christmas greetings and condolences for the tragic airplane crash.
But, Flynn seemed unaware that our intelligence agencies follow the telephone calls of the Russians and that he was recorded in a conversation with the Russian ambassador?
So now, he changes his story. Perhaps he did mention "sanctions" in his call with his friends in the Russian embassy?
However, there is more to the story.
How much did Pence and Trump know about what Flynn was talking about with the Russians? Did Pence lie to the American people or was he lied to by General Flynn and used as a tool to spread the lie on national TV? That is the trail that the press needs to follow.
Otherwise, Trump will see no need to move off the dime. Flynn will stay in place and Pence and others will have "no comment" when questioned. We need to get more information from Mike Pence if we want this story to open up to the truth. Pressure needs to be applied.

(7,429 posts)They ALL know that Flynn colluded with Russia during the campaign. It was part of the campaign strategy. Trumpy invariably signed off on it. That's why Flynn isn't out in the cold right now.
They'd love to get to the intelligence community and have access to exactly what the spooks know, so they can "alter the facts." That's still being planned, IMO. They're stalling for time until they can pry those nuggets from the CIA and perhaps the FBI-- although the FBI has long proven to be compromised, probably by the Russians as well (Comey's "announcements" were too tightly timed with Russian interference for a reasonable person to think otherwise.) The Trumpies want ownership of the data. The CIA won't give it up.
But time is running out for Trumpy. He's got to build an alibi, and quick. The hounds are sniffing up his tree and they're barking and they know they have their victim. It's probably too early in his term for a major distraction: WAR. So he's trying to stall and rally his inner circle for a stand against the truth.
