http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/justin-trudeau-trump_us_58a1dc96e4b03df370d8a29b?The Canadian prime minister wasnt about to let his arm get ripped off.
President Pussygrabber has a weird way of shaking hands. His herky-jerky grappling style sometimes makes it look like hes fighting with the other person, and maybe even trying to rip their arm out of its socket. But Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appeared prepared for an uncomfortable greeting when he visited the White House on Monday.
A video of Pussygrabber welcoming Trudeau shows the prime minister quickly grasping the pussygrabbers shoulder with his left arm, seemingly bracing for a potential pull. Trudeau then brings the handshake close and toward his center, cutting off Pussygrabbers leverage and ensuring that his shoulder remains intact.
The whole affair still seemed forceful and perhaps even aggressive, at least by Canadian standards. But it lacked the awkwardness of a number of recent Pussygrabber handshakes.

Apologies for boring people here who've already seen this, but when I was a karate student, I learned A TON of valuable strategic stuff that applied off the mat and into the real world.
Sparring class one night. I couldn't make the morning adult class that week so I went to an evening class. There was a different group of students in the evening than there were in the morning. I was paired off with a young dude I think was at the same belt level as I was, but he looked like a 20-something whereas I was clearly old enough to be his mother. I wasn't as good at sparring as I was with the forms. He was younger, stronger, more agile, and clearly had an athletic background. And I am NO athlete, not have I ever been one!
Anyway, I'd never met this kid before, so I didn't know what to expect or whether he had any specialties or favorite techniques. So all I knew to do was to focus on his core, his chest, at about solar plexus level, and jab. "Keep 'em busy," as the instructors often reminded us. "Jab, jab, jab. Keep 'em busy." And they'd all invariably share an anecdote from one sparring competition wherein a guy who suffered an arm injury during the tournament STILL won his matches, because he just kept on jabbing and stayed focused, impeded and frustrated many of his opponent's strategies, and wore his opponent out. Jabbing I could do.
This key moment came during our match where I was trying hard to stay focused on his chest, and out of the corner of my eye, I noticed he had stretched one arm out all the way to the side and was wildly flapping his hand and his fingers. I realized that this was a distraction tactic. If I took my eyes off the ball (the center of his chest), and glanced over there at the flapping wiggling fingers, BANG! He could come around with the other arm, and give me a hook or an uppercut and probably end the match. Because I was looking away - over there at the "shiny object" and not focused on what needed to be focused on. His core. His chest. Right there in the middle.
I stayed focused, because I suspected what he was trying to do, and guess what happened? A) he, too, realized that this trick wasn't gonna work with this unfamiliar opponent (me), and he never tried it again throughout the rest of the match. And B) I fought him to a draw.
Besides, when you're focused on the middle, your peripheral vision can tip you off about things happening over at the far edges, and it's a lot more possible to respond more quickly without losing your focus. You can see what's going on, out of the corner of your eye, without having to look over toward whatever it is, thereby dropping your focus.
This became a metaphor for me for life outside the dojo. And I found it was a good one. It certainly seems to apply HERE, too. STAY FOCUSED, guys! Don't let the flapping hand or fluttering fingers or shiny objects distract you. DON'T lose your focus!

(80 posts)for dealing with republicans. Do pay too much attention to the stuff on the periphery, that's a distraction from what they really want to achieve. That is why they love Trump- he is the periphery. His tweets distract us while they kick the DCI and Chairman of the JCS off the NSC, and place Bannon on it.

Maybe, in future, a table set aside for a quick armwrestle (best of three?) would satisfy Trump and formalize the whole thing.
That or, looking at Trump, maybe a sumo bout.

(15,278 posts)Most people aren't expecting their hand to be crushed so their hand is relaxed when they offer it. If you can get your thumb and forefinger directly under and spanning their first and last knuckles, then squeeze as you shake, they will yelp as their knuckles are pressed together. You don't even have to be real strong to do this, just need the element of surprise.

(2,146 posts)this is a more or less standard way of establishing superiority and control. You are controlling the opponent's strength by grasping the shoulder, then pulling the opponent off balance by pulling his hand towards your center, where you have your strength. Very clever and it really threw 45 off his game.
