I think what we are seeing is the "Bannon gallop".

The Gish gallop is, essentially, a discussion or debate technique whereby one speaker shovels BS so quickly and in such volume that his or her opponent is simply overwhelmed; i.e., unable to factually contradict one lie or gross exaggeration before three more are spewed out.

Bannon, apparently the one who is actually running the White House, has successfully kept the press and, consequently, most of us, distracted by forays into anti-Nordstromism, illegal voter tweets and attacks on SNL while, quietly, his minions are opening the gates for the corporate barbarians to take lay waste to anything resembling our democratic institutions or traditions.

The ACA, Social Security, Medicare, marriage equality, global climate change initiatives and most anything else that might be considered progressive will not be publicly walked to the gallows but will, instead, be sentenced to suffer a "death of a thousand cuts" in the dark labyrinths of Trumpian dystopia. The cries of those who object will be lost in the incessant deluge of alternative facts and bright shiny objects fashioned for our amusement.

They are counting on us to grow weary and disgusted and, eventually, to roll over and accept their obscenities.

Will we, I wonder?

I didn't vote for 45Pee and I sure as hell didn't vote for Bannon. How is it that we have to live with the fact that the thinking around the country is that Bannon is actually the president and running the WH?
