Paul Rainwater, who was a top aide to former Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and former U.S. Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., is under consideration to run FEMA in President Cheeto's administration, according to three sources who active in politics in Baton Rouge and Washington. Louisiana's two Republican senators, Bill Cassidy and John Kennedy, suggested Rainwater for the job, and the Twitler administration has put him a short list, said the sources, who refused to be identified because they are not authorized by the administration to speak about the matter.
The Vulgar Yam's team asked Rainwater a few weeks ago to complete paperwork for the position, the sources said. Former North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory and at least one other person are also up for the position, according to the sources.
Rainwater has extensive experience in natural disaster management and is considered a national expert in disaster recovery plans. He's been involved in every natural disaster recovery in Louisiana since Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
