Before being fired last month by President Trump, then acting Attorney General Sally Yates warned the White House that national security adviser Michel Flynn was potentially vulnerable to Russian blackmail.
It is now believed that Flynn communicated with not only Russias Ambassador to the U.S., Sergey Kislyak, but other Russian officials inside the Kremlin including President Vladimir Putin to discuss the possibly lifting sanctions against Russia imposed by former president Barack Obama.
When questioned, Flynn told Vice President Mike Pence that they did not discuss the Obama administrations sanctions against Russia. This is now confirmed by multiple sources to be untrue as evidence suggests that Flynn likely made promises that Trump would quickly review the sanctions. It was later discovered that Flynn even used encryption technology for some of his communications.

Purge Pence and then impeach tRump. Otherwise we might be stuck with Pence with Republicon majorities for a long time.
On edit: I may have misread reports of when Pence was informed.

(48,988 posts)Section 2 of Amendment 25 of the US Constitution:
And you are confused. The Vice President IS the President of the Senate -- one and the same.
Ryan wants to go for 2024, if he is smart and he usually is, despite looks and his Randite obsession. He doesn't want to be Gerald Ford in 2020.
Ford was nominated to take Agnew's position on October 12, the first time the vice-presidential vacancy provision of the 25th Amendment had been implemented. The United States Senate voted 92 to 3 to confirm Ford on November 27. Only three Senators, all Democrats, voted against Ford's confirmation: Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin, Thomas Eagleton of Missouri and William Hathaway of Maine. On December 6, 1973, the House confirmed Ford by a vote of 387 to 35. One hour after the confirmation vote in the House, Ford took the oath of office as Vice President of the United States. -- Wikipedia
