Trump is proving a point I made a year ago

Someone told me we needed somebody to shake up Washington
I said, "You know what shakes things up right? Earthquakes shake things up. Volcanoes shake things up. And it always ends badly for the people nearest them."

seem to be highly underrated in American politics nowadays. I mean, why settle for somebody boring and technocratic like Hillary Clinton or Al Gore when you can have somebody infinitely more exciting- in all the wrong ways- like Donald Trump or George W. Bush? Enough Americans felt like they could share a beer with "W". Enough Americans knew that Trump was a sleazeball, yet somehow believed that he'd fight for "the little guy". You go Trump voters!!!

that George W. Bush/Dick Cheney was as far down the barrel as we could go. Hell, even though Sarah Palin was a loon, she had some government experience. As so often happen, one should NEVER underestimate the ignorance, naivete, and sheer malice of a substantial portion of the American electorate.
