Dear Abby...

I'm an intelligence operative for a foreign Government. Part of my job is to collect information on United States foreign policy strategies and national security plans. This will apparently involve visiting an up-scale restaurant in a well-known resort community. My question is: would it be "tacky" to slip the Maitre D $50 for a better table location in such a refined establishment?
