Your suggestion that Republicans, presumably in the House and Senate, "need to get onboard with investigations or be swept aside" puzzles me from a practical perspective. How will they be forced to act? They have the majority in both Houses, they hold the White House and the Supreme Court is (sort-of) evenly split.
Specifically, what lever of power is available to sweep aside the Republicans in DC?

(14,916 posts)The realists among them know that Trump is going down and they are hoping to salvage some vestige of the administration. To me, they are showing us that Pence is at best too gullible, naive and willing to look the other way to be trusted with the reins of our government.
