1. On Friday, Trump said he didn't know about any of the allegations surrounding Flynn but he'd "look into it.'
2. Flynn spent the weekend with Trump at Mar a Lago and was seen over his shoulder when he and the Japanese Prime Minister were reacting to the North Korean missile launch. (All done out in the open in front of partygoers, mind you.)
3. Flynn was still in the White House seemingly as a persona grata as recently as yesterday while Trump met with Canadian PM Trudeau.
Despite all of this......
4. Today the White House via Spicer is claiming that Trump knew when the WH counsel was notified about the concerns regarding Flynn from Sally Yates, which would have been in late January.
And now.....
5. The official position put out late last night and today is that Flynn was asked to resign because he "misled" Mike Pence and other administration officials by not divulging the full details of his December 2016 conversation with the Russian ambassador.
However.....
6. When one considers the timeline set forth in #4, would #1-#3 really be consistent with #5?
Occam's Razor seems to tell me that nobody actually "misled" anybody, and the White House is simply desperately scrambling to cover its tracks, and wildly flailing in the process.

(1,129 posts)45 & Team knew about the calls when instructing Flynn to make them....
Flynn would not benefit from giving/making assurances to Kremlin on something his future position would not have direct authority over...
45 found out 17 days ago that the IC for sure had transcripts of calls ... and that meant 45/Bannon were going to have to play the Flynn Russian Scapegoat card sooner than planned....
So, they held off as long as they could... got rid of pesky Interim AG lady who dared to bring this up..
And continued to spew alternative positions as long as possible...
The resignation option, by its very nature, required that a document be generated ....
conveniently serving as a way to legally record alternative facts to support that the Russia connection was FLYNN alone...
the acceptance of the document essentially memorializes the alternative facts (quasi-confession) so that they can be referred to as a primary source in future investigations...
Or more likely, to "prove" that there is no basis to engage in any future investigations...

There is no evidence of tampering with actual votes, but I would not be at all surprised if that is coming too.
