Fuck. FUUUUUUUCK. I finally read the whole thing. Put the Schadenfreude away.

This is now way past "taking down Trump"

This is literally "Russia has paid operatives at the highest level of our government". This is nothing to be happy about. The damage this has done will take decades to recover from.

Context, regardless of how obvious it appears, is difficult for many people to infer; so I get your despair. I get it.

God forbid we begin using other literary tools such a foreshadowing or satire, else the lowest common denominators will be left out in the cold with nothing but snarky phone numbers to entertain themselves with.

Our trade deficit problem was created by Reagan, along with our defunded schools and infrastructure. That doesn't even go into things like him giving arms to Bin Laden and his followers.

Almost 30 years since Ronnie left office. How are we doing on recovering from his tenure in office?

Time is a blur to me right now, my apologies, but the fact is we have been well and truly sold out. Our intelligence assumes we're compromised at this point, and so does the intelligence agencies of our allies.

We're not trustworthy anymore, and our allies know this, and are adjusting accordingly.

We are so seriously fucked.

I have always tried to get my news from many sources as possible, read all sides opinions(alt-right to alt-left) and then use actual EVIDENCE to come to whatever conclusions I can. This is why I love du, I have found a home here among the rational left.

That being said, I think we are being myopic in some of our assessments as to the goals of these thugs. This is all my opinion and so please, if this is garbage to you, feel free to say so. But I don't think a lot of us see what a lot of our enemies see because we have our worldview, they have ours.

These nuts believe their future is over. I'm not necessarily doubting people's claims that trump "sold us out for the almighty dollar" I just think their is more to it. From what I have gathered these folks think their time is at a end. The end of the white rule is over(their words, just read any alt right article, and to some extent, the alt left they just react differently)

They don't believe with the demographic shifts they will be around in 100 years, let alone in power(and let's be honest, with demographic changes they won't be any sort of majority anywhere). They don't see Russia as an enemy, or Nazis, or whoever for that matter. What they see is a world wide white identity movement to halt the forces of "globalism" they don't consider this treason because the American dream is no longer their dream. They feel it's been taken from them.

Van Jones was very right when he said this was a "white lash"

As I said. This is what I have gleaned from reading their blogs and such. Sorry if it's a bit over the top but this is what we are facing. Nothing fights harder than a cornered animal.

Not all of them, but many of them feel their vision of their ideal America is on its way out. It was about to collapse completely when they enjoyed a series of unexpected election wins in November. Nonetheless, they still feel the forces resisting their vision, and they still think their movement will soon be extinct. What I don't get is why they insist on clinging to this temporary bandage when they know they can't avoid diversity and liberalism winning out in the end. It's like if you had a really awful cavity that required root canal or the tooth to be pulled, but you didn't want to pay for the root canal or lose the tooth just yet, so you found a dentist who was willing to just do a filling. You know you ultimately can't preserve the tooth, but you'll prolong the inevitable as long as you can anyway.
