Don't believe these stories. It's bullshit and Pence knows it. Look at his face, his eyes, his body language, his words.

This is NOT meant to "help" Pence but could end up sending him down the same path as his boss, impeachment.

This story is leaked and Pence knows it's not true because he knew all along and was likely an active participant with Flynn in these discussions, with trump's knowledge and lead, but what are his options at this point? It's become part of the public discussion. Does he admit guilt outright? No. He rides it out to see how it's being played.

It amounts to one of two possibilities:

One, he is being protected and takes republican45's spot as the new 'man on the inside'

Or

Establishment Republicans get what they wanted in the first place, one of their own, in Paul Ryan, becoming president.

No matter, they will get to keep cranking out things their way until 2018 and then they will likely lose the Senate but this may also cost the House as well but with a President Ryan and a strong minority party they can fight Democrats to a stand still for two more years.

In 2020 they lose the WH but have even odds to win the House back and still keep some of their changes and keep fighting things to a draw and slow the new Democratic president from reversing to much of their work over the previous 4 years. It will take time to get us back on track but it will happen, even if it requires us to drag ignorant republicans along behind us.
They may not see control of the WH or Senate for a decade or more but their corporate masters got what they needed out of all of this and trump and his family still have money coming out their ears and so does his so-called former cabinet members.
We get our country back...at least for a little while longer.
