10. Why wouldn't the next president (Pence or Ryan)

just pardon him? Wouldn't the presidential pardon keep him out of jail? Don't get me wrong- I'd love to see him there. I've just always assumed that one would get a pardon.

would be in a rush to pardon Trump.

Ford's decision to pardon Nixon was extremely unpopular, and Trump is way more unpopular than Nixon was (my opinion) Ford ended up defending the pardon until his dying day. He was also a one-termer.

Depending on how ugly this gets, and how much the GOP wants to distance themselves from this whole fiasco, whomever it is may decide a pardon is not a good idea.

It also depends on who falls with him, if anyone.
