The problem is that neither party will be satisfied. That's been the problem all along, and why it's been so difficult to resolve. Far smarter people than SCROTUS have been wrestling with this one, and obviously he won't, and can't, do anything to arrive at a solution. If anything he's probably made it worse by showing the world what a clueless git he is.
