The media is resorting to minimalist Republican propaganda once again.

Flynn never said anything that was not normal for a new National Security Adviser to say. It was not uncommon, they say.

But it was.

There is a reason we only have one President and one National Security Adviser until the next President is sworn in. Events may change. New threats may arise. Actions may be required right up to January 20th. We don't know. We cannot have rogue citizens making decisions that are different from the set policies of our nation.

Trump and Flynn were wrong. The Republicans are wrong now. The media is being used by them once again, as if that is anything new. (Remember when Bush talked NYTimes out of printing a story during Iraq War)

Republicans are minimizing whatever happened with Russia and the Trump White House. The media seems to be assisting them in their effort. At least, that is what it looks like today.

Republicans do not want to investigate the Russian role in our last election. They would prefer to sweep it under the rug. They see nothing serious.

I've been putting my toe back in the water of cable news, but the first thing I see this morning is John McCain being as cautious as only an 80 year old Republican can be, and then Marco Rubio normalizing the chaos by saying "it's a little turbulent but that's to be expected". I do not want to watch GOP spin, I want news. I had to tweet about it and then turn the TV off. Sickening.

4. If we could only get the rest of America to read TPM, NYT, Slate, and WAPO...

then we wouldn't have any reason to debate it at all, I suppose? Then the 10% that read the "truth" would have a landslide in the next election.

the news shows are just echo chambers and revenue providers and places to run ads.

I don't think where we would be if the state of both TV (for the most part - there is creative stuff being done, but we just wait to stream on Netflix or Amazon etc) - and TV news - wasn't so horrendous.

Amorphous "media" isn't specific. I haven't seen the media minimizing this.
