Maybe she's little more than one of those delusionals and deplorables who think it'll be okay if you just get fed up and burn everything down, presumably to "start over."

If you go that route, for real, you'd be lucky to find ANYTHING to start over WITH. Assuming you even survive it.

Revolution Shmevolution. Get your head out of the sand (or the clouds, OR your ass) and deal with what's REAL, practical, plausible, and DOable. Like Hillary wanted to do, for example. I'm no fan of either of 'em, Sarandon OR Chris Hayes.

Standing Rock had a chance with Hillary but this asshole just had to have trump so she has no room to speak about supporting the Native Americans.. she owns a chunk of trump.. she can stfu.

I think SS is jealous of Hillary.. Hillary is someone who actually cares about others.. SS cares about herself.

9. she's such a reactionary
Wed Feb 15, 2017, 11:49 PM
Feb 2017

and there is sadly a faction of the left these days that is very reactionary. I noticed one of the tweets posted downthread criticized her for supporting Bernie...the problem is not that, at least on my end it is her saying Hillary is worse than Trump. We know Bernie voted for Hillary, at least I can have reasonable suspicion that he did. And I am, being old, not at all as convinced as the millennials that Bernie would have won. Sure socialism may be more acceptable with the young but I am sure a whole different faction of folks would have turned out to vote against a socialist, probably people who didn't even show up to the polls this time, would have been energized to vote against Bernie (like my brother for instance) because of what socialism in their minds represents (regardless of the facts).

But I can't imagine on what mental planet a person must reside to believe that Hillary is worse than Trump. That's insane on any level, it is seeing Trump through a very distorted lens...perhaps something only a multimillionare would see.

that is for the old GD: Postmortem forum anyway. I do agree that Sarandon has gone goofy lately. I guess she's thinking about Hillary's stance on Russia? Hillary would have not gone to war with Russia. We did not even go to war during the worst of the Cold War. And she would have had intelligent people in charge. Meanwhile, Trump is actually friends with Russia and ruining our reputation worldwide. It's nonsensical to say Hillary is worse. Ridiculous.

She doesn't need the ACA, or a $15 minimum wage. And probably never visits National Parks or cares about climate change (until and unless her beach house falls into the sea due to sea level rise).

I think a lot of people (including me, probably) never took Trump that seriously. I assumed he had no chance to win. But that complacency hurt in the end.

The only silver lining I see is that people have finally gotten up off their asses. They are in the streets and on the phones like never before. It's about damn time; too bad it took a disaster for them to do so.

your last paragraph is exactly how she justified her idiotic comments before the election, I'm assuming you missed that but she was literally saying what you are but kind of using it to excuse herself, saying, well, see, now people are awake and paying attention. I was like you, I never thought he had a chance but I never would have dreamed of voting third party even if there was a real candidate after what happened with Nader, I can't believe people still think this is a viable option.

I can't speak from experience on this particular moment, since I didn't watch it. We record that whole evening block in case we're not able to watch it. Knowing what I know about Sarandon's "politics" I passed on it.

But man, the tweets are devastating! Others here found her infuriating. Now, she evidently thinks there's still gonna be some kind of "revolution" via trump. It's pointed out in multiple tweets from people that - whatever happens, SHE'S gonna be fine. It's the rest of America that will have to scratch through the piles of ashes left over from the self-proclaimed "rebels" and "patriots" (COUGH! COUGH! AHEM!) who voted for trump because they wanted only to "burn it all down".

or what should've happened is really wasting your time and energy." There is to be no criticism of Susan Saranwrap. When it comes to Democrats, on the other hand, there is NEVER any lack of blame, detailing mistakes, what should've happened. That's different.

Here is what I took away from her interview: Obama and Hillary Clinton are status quo and this is always very very bad because, um, STATUS QUO and they did not listen when we told them what to do that one time; but Trump causes protests, there will be lots and lots of protests and lawsuits and now people are awake and how can you judge just by, like, a few weeks of Trump and media do not cover all the stories all the time (What do you DO all day anyway?).

Whut? It's like listening to an elderly teenager.
